I’m talking with a friend of mine. I tell him that in a week we are going to southern France to take some photos. We need them for a project that is slowly becoming fascinating. He tells me that we have a very special way to do our job: very experiential. Ok, yes: why should I work on something if I can not experience it? This is Forestia: a project to experience intensely.

Let’s go back in time: it’s winter 2014 and we just arrived to Alicante. David welcomed us in Alicante airport and took us to the place that is shaping his project. From the window we can see an arid landscape and a big mountain. We could say that it is there that the project was born.

 

On any given day, in any given mountain

Yes, everything started on any given Saturday while wandering through the mountains, or maybe following the stream of a river. Everything started at lunchtime that day. Everything started while travelling around Europe as well, and on the visits to the gastronomic fairs.

It was then that David had an intuition: the need of a hot menu to fully enjoy the days in the open air. Real food to take away, anywhere, a full meal with a system to warm up the main course. Something good, easy and healthy.

Natural, local, healthy, tasty.

 

After some time working on the idea and giving shape to a plan, with years of experience working with field rations, a team was formed. This team would drive the creation of the brand Forestia.

Forestia is a pack with a meal to take on days in the open. There are 18 different options and they will be sold in shops and online.

The first steps

We talked with David and his team about our referents, our intentions and our personal point of view. When David spoke, he conveyed illusion and strength, so we decided to take part in the project as design, branding and communication managers.

 

Working with Forestia involves brand creation, including things such as graphic identity or tone with a series of related things: logotype, graphic identity, style,  packaging, web design, etc.

Our main point is expressing the enjoyment of the outdoors in a relaxed and non-competitive way. We want frugality and elegance to define Forestia, giving to it a unique personality of its own. We will talk about the food and the landscape: the experience.

Take me out for lunch to the most amazing place

And we go to the mountain, we walk for hours, find the right place and taste the meal.

The experiential part is the environment where you experience it, it is what you eat and it is being in the best places to eat.

 

The Path

The basics are ready but there still is a long way to go.

Firstly, the project is centered on food, but in a short time it will grow and we will also develop other products to enjoy the open air. New products that we designed to be the continuation of a path that, day after day, becomes more thrilling.

It’s been a long time since we went to Alicante for the first time. We are proud of everything that the company team and us have lived as a team. All of them are great traveling companions and we still have many miles to walk together. We are.
