Everything is beautiful for us in this project Why? Easy: Jiang and Faruk. They are our favorite people in Chiang Mai, a nice city in Thailand. We like what they do, how they talk about it and how they are living it and how the are living it. Lazy Naka is their project, a brand of clothes hand woven, dyed and stitched. Beautiful pieces with personality and style.

Jiang and Faruk ask us to work on the image of Lazy Naka, with a combination of manual and elegancy, to reflect their identity. To reflect their identity.

We met here in Chiang Mai three years ago, boom, started working together.

To wear Lazy Naka. But first of all, what means Lazy Naka?

As to the name, ‘na ka’ has no actual meaning, but just a really often used word here in Thailand in the end of every sentence, in a very polite way. Long-stayed foreigners here like us, have even got used to put it after English like “thank you na ka”, “see you na ka”, so we just put it after ‘lazy’, which is almost the main status of every single person living in such a hot place like Thailand, everyone is lazy like a dog here, including us.

Our work was basically to search the average between two worlds, to give harmony to the union of the raw and manual part of the work, and the final classyness of the clothes. The anarchic and emotional trace with a typographic base more rational and consistent.

Illustrations

From the first moment, they ask us to work on a collection of illustrations to complete the corporate image. Drawings that could be part of the Lazy Naka identity. Jiang and Faruk work with traditional techniques on the dyed and stitched, recovering old habits. Like the old times, like old people already did. So, they felt in love with an old thai lady, that became the image of a collection of illustrations that reflects the main activities of Lazy Naka: hand woven, dyed and stitched.

Besides, we worked on designing and drawing some of the tags of the clothes at the store, for a coherent and richer presentation of the bran image. For a more detailed work..
Lazy Naka started the project on spring 2016. It’s a pleasure for us to work with tough but easy people like them.
