It has been a while since we first met Montse Ané: the same experience that we had the first time, keeps happening every single time that we meet her: she always comes up with new ideas, new models, new plans and unique projects.

At first, we thought it weird that she seemed to have two speeds: quiet, rather slow, when she talks, explains and thinks again; fast with her intuitions, fast when she makes. Because that what she’s good at: making things.

She told us about her project and we loved it because it’s about having ideas and making them possible. Ideas that stem from her unique point of view in life, from her own universe with her own referents. Teamwork is the key to develop her ideas. She works together with all sorts of people in a hut, or rather a barn, where her ideas meet the interdisciplinary skills of her collaborators: people that make things in the makers bureau.

Founded in 2013 by Montse Ané and based in Barcelona, The Makers Bureau is a meeting point to share and develop ideas, and to collaborate with artists and professionals from several disciplines around design and creation.

And thus we developed the corporate identity: the name, the corporate image and the first products. First, we searched for old blueprints of barns, we also searched how people used to pack and label products.

Time to wander

Slow but steady, the project is making its progresses. Time for creation is past, now it’s time for production, fundamentally it’s about choosing materials and thinking about details.

The product launch is scheduled for spring 2015 but before the project has already been gaining visibility.

The first product appears: the Corb series is a collections of gloves and bonnets inspired by the figure of ravens.

Inspired on ravens and tested in the deepest woods, Corb caps & gloves are timeless embodiment of comfort, style and function. The cap is made in 100% cotton. It comes in three colors (black, grey, brown), two types (short, large), and is sealed with The Makers Bureau label.

Then, Tel: collections of handkerchiefs illustrated by artists (first illustrations by Júlia Bertran).

At the same time, we are working on new products, textile, graphic and industrial, the soon will be launched.

The Makers Bureau is born, it’s the idea of having idea, a center of knowledge, and meeting point for all sorts of talented people. We are happy to take part on this birth.
